100 pieces of me...

I haven’t blogged for ages. I have been travelling and quite honestly frantic at work working on a biggie project. I noticed on my twitter feed that quite a few people are writing 100 interesting facts about themselves. Now I have zero intention of clogging up anyone’s twitter feed but I liked the idea in theory. Some of the facts about people really are pretty cool and made me wonder if it was possible to do the same. I actually didn’t know if I could even think of 100 interesting facts about myself.  I mean it’s a lot right, I'm not sure I am that interesting to be honest. So always one for the challenge I decided to try. The below is the result of my attempt. Whether or not it’s interesting is another matter all together mind. I leave that up to you...

1. I am a Taurus, Born in April, yes THE best month of the year
2. I don’t like Coffee. I have tried. I really have. Pretty much every shape and size, with and without shots. I am about the only person who goes into Starbucks and asks for Tea or hot chocolate. Yes really I do.
3. I have owned 3 homes. This is the first one I’ve owned by myself and I bought it off plan so no one has ever lived here before me.
4. I have 2 cats and frankly, home is not home when they are not in it.
5. My favourite colour is blue. Always has been.  That amazing colour of the sea when you go on holiday somewhere exotic.
6. I am 5ft 9 at the start of the day and 5ft 8.5 by the end of it.
7. My Dad held me before my Mum when I was born.
8. I drive a black VW Golf and I love it. I always wanted one and last year I bought a brand new one. Everyone said there's no point buying a new one you will get bored of it in a few months. One year on and I still love my car.
9. I am afraid of heights. I got scared when I went on the London eye. Honest.
10. I drink 3 litres of water every day. If I don’t I get a headache.
11. I have one brother who is 2.5 years older than me.
12. My mum let my dad name me but she wanted to call me Louise. My middle name is Louise. My Mum calls me Lou or Looby. Pretty much always, unless I am in trouble.

17. I lived in Manchester for 11 years. It will always be my second home. It’s where I did my growing up.
18. My oldest friend I have known since we were 4. I can remember playing my little pony in her bedroom, climbing trees and getting caught passing notes in school. She is married now with a 7 year old. We keep each other young because we still laugh about how utterly naïve we were. I am lucky to have her.
19. My best friend at Uni was also called Claire. Everyone knew us as ‘the Claire’s’. A bit like having a twin although she’s brunette and looks nothing like me. She's wicked.
20. I have twin nephews. Identical twin nephews. They are the special little people. On the whole we can tell the difference apart from my Dad who always guesses and often gets them the wrong way round.
21. As much as I like being a size 10 I generally look better as a size 12. It’s a girl thing to like fitting into smaller clothes but I can look a little unhealthy if I loose too much weight. The older I get the more I am ok with that.

23. I always wear sun cream. I love the smell and I hate getting burnt.

25. I like football. I went to my first game with my brother and my Dad when I was 10 years old. I support Reading FC.  They beat Sheffield United 2-0. You don’t choose your team, it chooses you.

32. My first crush was John Taylor from Duran Duran. He has not aged well. At all.
33. My first real boyfriend was called Mark. I was 15 and it took him 6 months to ask me out. I am not sure if I was playing hard to get or he was just shy. Either way we were together for 2.5 years.

52. The first film I remember seeing at the Cinema was Superman. Christopher Reeve was a legend. The new version never did it for me.

54. I don’t like celery.
55. When I was 18 I had a joint birthday party with 2 of my very good school friends. One of them died a few years later after taking drugs. He was a lovely, kind person who got mixed up with the wrong scene. As a result I have never dabbled with illegal substances. Those kind of things make you think.

65. I love musicals. I watched Cats with the fam when I was about 13. I have loved them ever since.

69. I love to read. It is one of my favourite ways to relax.
70. I speak to my Mum at least twice every week wherever I am in the world.
71. I am incredibly clumsy. Bull in a china shop is an apt description.
72. I have a good job and have done well in my career. I have worked hard for this.
73. If I had to choose between a career and family. I would choose family. I hope that I would never have to choose because I enjoy working most days.

75. I have no time for people who do not have manners or who look down on others.
76. I give myself a harder time than anyone else could ever give me.
77. My parents are still married after 40years and I consider myself extremely privileged that they are.

91. I can be pretty stubborn.
92. I would never bungee jump.
93. I suffer from positional vertigo which means sometimes I get a spinning sensation in my head if I move my head too fast, am stressed or over tired. There is no cure.
94. I commute over an hour to work each way every day. It’s worth it because I love working in London.
95. I love Subway. It’s my favourite fast food; apart from if I am hung-over then it has to be a quarter pounder with cheese meal.
96. I can’t ice skate at all. It’s beyond embarrassing.
97. My favourite cocktail is a Cosmopolitan.
98. I was living in Manchester when the IRA bombed it. It shook the walls of our student house. Made us all appreciate each other that little bit more. It’s a shame it sometimes has to take a bomb to do that.
99. I love being an Auntie. The day my nephews were born was extremely special.
100. My favourite flowers are stargazer lilies. If I ever get them I have to cut the stamen off as they can be poisonous to cats.

If you got to the end without snoozing I am impressed.  I nearly drifted off myself writing it. Well its warm outside and I did work out this morning (with tyres and bungee runs but that’s for another blog).

Laters cool dudes – time for a glass of red.

xx
