Sweetness and light..

So here we are heading fast for mid January - thank God because quite frankly this has to be the worst month of the year period so depressing isn't it? Also thank god because I need to be paid. Bank accounts a tad empty after over exuberance in every sense at Xmas.

I am writing today's blog from the glamorous position of floor level on the 1900 from Paddington. Yup that's right folks I pay £400 quid a month to sit on the floor (and believe me sometimes that is a privilege!). Anyway its all a good incentive to stick with the plan and particularly objective 1 isn't it? Numb backside and mingling with streptococus everyday is quite a kick up the rear you know..

The joys of train travel...

So this week I have continued progress on my house and as of tomorrow it should be on the market. For those of you who haven't moved recently you may be surprised to know they measure the energy efficiency of your house. This is apparently called an EPC. I had no idea what this was but the estate agent explained in detail in slow she is blonde and she is female voice (still don't get it but wasn't going to admit that). So the woman went round to do mine today. I have to say I was a little worried about how efficient it would be, I mean I am not afraid of using my heating. Not afraid at all. My parents always tutt when they come round because its constantly t shirt temperature in my house. Well I mean, who wants to wear a jumper indoors!! Any how I have no idea how they measure this efficiency but I do know it set me back 50quid plus VAT. I also know that for energy efficiency testers they are not the best with modern technology...

Ran out to get some lunch and left my phone on my desk. When I came back I was met with 3 garbled messages from energy woman with my alarm blaring in the background, shouting
(her not me) I HAVE SET OFF THE ALARM. Hmmm no shit sherlock. I called the agent who sounded very flustered and embarrassed but had at least managed to stop the entire neighbourhood coming to see what was going on altho he then couldn't reset it. Apparently its all done now. Surprisingly after the alarm drama they never told me just how efficient it was..

In other news I slipped up on the shopping this week. Well ish. I say ish because I consider this necessity so not really slippage. Last week I ran out of my favourite work daytime perfume. Yes people I have them categorised, work day, weekday evening, weekend and weekend night out. In the spirit of my objectives I decided I would use my weekday evening perfume. You know be resourceful, frugal even. The first day I did this someone at work said to me, have you been eating sweets or is that your perfume? That was at 11 30. By 12 30 I had been to boots and purchased my standard work day Chanel Coco Madmoiselle. I mean come on, sweets?!! That was necessity. You understand don't you? At least I smell nice again now... Very very important for the socialising aspect. I did buy eau de toilette to save cash and I did get points at boots which means ultimately I will save - right? I am also considering if I should adopt a new scent for weekday evenings based on that feedback....

Till next time...
