Adios January....

So here we are at the end of January. I have been shamefully remiss of blogging of late, mainly due to work being crazy busy and lots of dashing about. Enough of the excuses though let’s get down to business.

Well I shall be honest the last couple of weeks have been somewhat up and down on the objectives front. The week before last I spent the week in Belgium for work. This would normally be a challenge on all levels (I stayed in Antwerp shopping is tres good as are the restaurants). In actual fact although I worked like a crazed dog I was really good, at least I think I was good. Went running 3 times, no shopping at all and only went out for drinks one night. The one night I did have a glass, well I may have indulged a little... lets just say I had more than a glass… um put it this way I ended up crawling back to the hotel at 2.30am and was up again at 7am (thank you god for inventing paracetomol and diet coke…)

The following weekend I broadened the home search area and went looking in another part of Londonia. Didn’t get the whole, knocked sideways, butterflies in my stomach, Christmas morning, I love love love this house vibe but I did see some nice places. The challenge I have is I have a lovely house now. I mean I have 2 beds and 2 bathrooms, a garden and off road parking all to myself and you know I use it (well it would be rude not to wouldn’t it?). If I picked my house up and put it in South West London it would cost me about £400k or more. I have a good job and all but I am not that rich, unfortunately. So I am having to get my head around the size issue. Yes people size DOES matter….Might need some assistance from anneka rice on this one as it is a wee bit of a challenge.

This week me and my friends from from work went shopping for our bosses bday pressie after work. This was utter utter hell. Well no it wasn’t, it was actually heaven but it was very very bad. The problem was we went to Selfridges. I should probably stop typing now but I said I would spill. Anyway friend from work and I have very similar shopping resilience level i.e. none. We decide to confine ourselves to the ground floor to avoid shoe temptations and such like. So we purchase lovely pressie for the boss and then we have a quick look at shu Uemura. Now in my defense I am in my mid thirties and like every other woman I want to retain my youthful erm complexion for as long as possible. So we are just browsing their ‘award winning’ products (I am even getting excited tying this) when assistant comes over and starts talking to us, explaining how they are made and the best bit... letting us try the stuff! Oh my god. Oh my god. AMAZING products. I was very lucky I only spent what I did. I almost bought a £50 bottle of cleanser which I have never used before!!! (yes I know I know, I can hear the shrieks of WHAT?!! From here). Even the assistant thought i should probably try a smaller size first just in case I came out in scales or something similar. So being sensible I erm bought a travel size to try instead.......and this amazing spritzer toner and this mousse base product which makes your skin looks awesome. Ok yes I know I am meant to be being good but I am also meant to be looking after my body and all that jazz!! For the record these products are totally amazing. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. I will be going back to get that £50 bottle when my little one runs out I can tell you its essential!!

While I am confessing I will also tell you I had fish and chips for dinner last night and a glass or two of wine and a chicken curry followed practically a whole bag of peanut m&m’s tonight. Must do better next week….

On the plus side I had 2 people view my house today and have another mid week. I also listed 3 items on ebay today with there amazing app for iphone – bloody brilliant bar code scanner doobery rocks.

Have yet to meet the Estate agent for a drink and he chased me on that this week!! Points for persistence 5, points for slight scariness 3….

Laterz January, see you next year….;)
